The Centre is implementing three initiatives in preparation for the inaugural National OER practitioner and leadership symposium scheduled for early December 2019:

  1. Provide free capacity development opportunities for all tertiary education students to build digital literacies and knowledge of open education using the OERu’s Learning in a Digital Age micro-courses (with optional pathways to achieve micro-credentials and/or for formal academic credit)
  2. Provide free capacity development opportunities for post-secondary educators  to achieve the ‘OER practitioner’ certification
  3. Coordinate a research project to investigate text-book affordability in New Zealand’s higher education sector (for report back at the national symposium)
